It has long been a tradition that the bride and groom will give gifts to the guests at their wedding.  These traditional wedding favours were usually trinket boxes containing sugar confectionaries that were given by European aristocrats.  This tradition is still carried out today with chocolates being given in small gift boxes.

It has now become more common that the groom will give gifts to the ushers and his best man to say thank you for their help on the big day.  The bride also gives her bridesmaids gifts as a thank you for their help in getting her ready on the big day.

The best man is the chief assistant to the groom and helps to look after the wedding rings as well as making sure everything goes according to plan on the big day.  It is for this reason that best man gifts are usually personalised to say thank you for everything the best man does.  Typical best man gifts include engraved tankards, cufflinks or watches.

Wedding Favours For Ushers

An usher helps the best man with everything he needs to make sure the groom has everything he needs in the run up to the wedding day and assisting guests at the wedding by ushering them to their seats.  Ushers are an important part of the wedding and so usher gifts tend to be similar to best man gifts.  It is also common for ushers to receive matching gifts.  For example each usher would receive an engraved hip flask with his name on it.

Bridesmaids Wedding Favours

Bridesmaids tend to the brides needs on her wedding day and the bride will often give bridesmaids gifts as a sign of her gratitude.  Bridesmaid gifts can be very different depending on the age of the bridesmaid.  The younger junior bridesmaids are likely to be given a personalised teddy bear or keepsake box.  Regular bridesmaid gifts are more likely to include gifts such as an engraved silver necklace or engraved photo frame.
